I try to keep my Dogs as active as possible through all stages of their lives. Of course some of the most challenging times, like humans, can be their Senior Years. I have taken a great deal of time and concern to keep them rolling through these years similarly to all the other stages in their lives. I look on age just as a number BUT obviously I do respect and understand their different needs and capacities as they get older. I therefore have focused on areas like transportation because in order for us to continue an active lifestyle they need to be able to get to the different areas we may roam. I have customized electric truck steps to assist on entering and exiting our vehicle as jumping in or out exposes them to an injury risk. In addition the smart design of my Dog bikes(ALL-Dog Vehicles) gives me the opportunity to take them out to trails as they can jog along or even walk at their own speed tethered to the bike getting their exercise in as they enjoy the outdoors and we can cover as much ground as they like. Another great exercise method I have found to keep older Dogs moving, especially when we can’t make it to a trail because of weather or other circumstances, is a treadmill. There are specialized Dog treadmills commercially available but a human treadmill can work as well as Princess is demonstrating on the one that I’ve customized for my dogs to safely use.
